Napa Valley’s Alpha Omega winery celebrates 10 years
Alpha Omega, a family-owned winery in Rutherford, commemorated its 10th anniversary with two celebrations on July 16 at its estate.
During the festivities, proprietors Robin and Michelle Baggett and winemaker Jean Hoefliger announced the creation of the Alpha Omega Foundation — the latest way the philanthropic vintners are making a difference in the Napa Valley.
The first endeavor for the new nonprofit was donating 20 percent of all wines sold at the parties to Auction Napa Valley, which has invested more than $150 million in Napa County nonprofit organizations since its inception.
At the parties, guests feasted on ribs and pulled pork prepared by Robin Baggett, who smoked a whole hog for each affair, pizza from Tra Vigne Catering and paella from Chef Christopher Sinclair Graze of Culinary Mercenary while the Fu Man Chu jazz trio entertained on the lawn.
Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch also had a table on the terrace to advertise the Wine Dogs 2 book Alpha Omega is selling in its Tasting Room and donating 100 percent of the books’ proceeds to the no-kill rescue and sanctuary.
