Renowned Korean Sommeliers visit Pirque
The President and Vice President of the International Association of Sommeliers of Korea came to Chile to learn more about Concha y Toro’s Wines of Origin portfolio.
On August 18, Chan Jun Park and Jae Youn, Ko visited Viña Concha y Toro to taste some of the company’s most outstanding wines.
They first met with Marcelo Papa, who introduced them to Chile’s special climatic conditions and explained why our country is an exceptional place to produce high-end wines.
The winemaker explained the unique characteristics found in Limarí as they tasted two wines from the valley: Casillero del Diablo Reserva Sauvignon Blanc and Marques de Casa Concha Chardonnay, both from the 2015 vintage.
He also commented on the three 2014 Marques de Casa Concha red wines, the Carmenere,Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Winemaker Enrique Tirado then presented the 2013 Don Melchor and talked about the wine and the characteristics of the vineyard, which is divided into the 7 blocks that give rise to the final blend of Don Melchor, the icon Cabernet Sauvignon from the Alto Maipo.
