The bottles have been missing since 2013 when Wine Investments Pty Ltd, the company which was holding them, went into receivership in 2013.

In 2013 the company Wine Investment Services (WIS) New South Wales went bankrupt. When it came to repossessing assets, it was found that they ‘have lost’ more than 30,000 bottles, which belonged to more than 300 customers who had contracted its custodial services.
The amount of the missing wine reaches 5 million Australian dollars, around 3.35 million euros.
